If Liverpool are to challenge for the Premier League title then they need to be the best in Europe, according to Fernando Torres.
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has recently admitted that after four years of team tinkering, a policy of rotation may not be the best policy for a club with title ambitions.
After only seven Premier League matchdays the Reds find themselves keeping early pace with Chelsea and have hopes they will maintain that position toward the season's close.
Fernando Torres, the club's 33-goal hero last year, believes that if Liverpool want to lift the Premier League trophy this season then they will need to be the best in Europe.
The Spaniard's logic is that England's top four are actually Europe's top four, and told LFC Magazine: "I believe we can win the Premier League or the Champions League... Arsenal produce great football, Liverpool and Chelsea are very difficult teams to play against and Man United played fantastically well last year."
"All the teams have different styles but are equally effective. I think the four biggest teams in England are now the best in Europe," he said.
"We have a good chance of doing well but it won't be easy to finish above any of the other three sides," Torres concluded.
