Fernando Torres has inked a new deal with Liverpool, according to the club's official website.
The 25-year-old Spaniard was already tied to Liverpool for the next four years, having signed a six-year contract in 2007.
However, terms of a new deal were agreed in May this year and formalities have been completed, with Torres set to earn an increased salary.
"Fernando is one of the best strikers in the game and, at his age, can only get better," said manager Rafael Benitez.
"Every major side would want him in their team, but he has shown how much he wants to achieve success at Liverpool by committing his future to the club.
"He's a special talent, but still has the hunger to improve his game."
The new contract contains an option for a further year's extension, meaning Torres will remain at Liverpool until 2014.
