Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has revealed striker Fernando Torres is still not fit to make his first-team return against Portsmouth tomorrow night.
The Spaniard missed the Reds' superb 1-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon - a result that ended the Blues' 86-match unbeaten home league record and put Benitez's men three points clear at the top.
And the 24-year-old record signing will again be absent as Tony Adams takes charge of his Pompey side for the first match since being appointed as the club's new permanent manager.
"Fernando is very close," Benitez said.
"Maybe he'll be okay for the weekend, but he cannot play tomorrow.
"We will see how he is over the next two or three days and then make a decision for Saturday."
Benitez also confirmed he may have some problems fielding an effective or experienced strikeforce against the south coast side at Anfield.
"We have some problems after the Chelsea game," he continued.
"You know [Robbie] Keane had an injury, while [Dirk] Kuyt and [Xabi] Alonso also had some knocks.
"We will have to check on them but I think they will be okay for the Portsmouth game."
